Steel pipes chart schedule 40

diameter, wall thickness and weight

pipe flow calculator

Calculate pipe weight

Calculate the weight of individual pipes and the entire pipeline made of carbon steel pipes. Select the nominal pipe diameter from the available form. The calculator shows the outside and inside diameter of the pipe for a standard pipe weight. For other pipe weight than standard SCH 40 select one from the list below the form.

After that, enter the actual length of the pipe or pipeline for the selected nominal diameter and pipe weight. The calculator will display the unit weight of the pipe per length meter, as well as the total weight of the pipe or piping for the total length entered.

Calculate pipe price

If you enter the unit price of the pipe in USD per unit mass of the pipeline, the calculator will display the total price of the pipe or pipeline. This way you can use the calculator to make the budget estimate for your project.

Filled pipe weight

The calculator also allows you to calculate the weight of the pipeline with the fluid inside the pipe. For a known fluid, you need to enter the density of the fluid and the calculator will calculate the volume of the fluid in the pipe, as well as the total mass of the pipeline with the fluid.

Pipes list

If the pipeline consists of several different dimensions of the pipeline, a table is available in which several different sizes and lengths of the pipelines can be added. The table presents the individual pipe parameters as well as the total summary values.

Pipe Size Charts and Specifications

Pipes come in various sizes, wall thicknesses, and weights, making it essential to have an accurate pipe chart for reference. Whether you're working with schedule 40 steel pipe, stainless steel, or other materials, a pipe dimension chart helps determine the right specifications for your project.

Understanding Pipe Schedules

Pipes are classified using a schedule system, which indicates wall thickness relative to the nominal pipe size (NPS). The most commonly used is schedule 40 (sch 40), which balances strength and affordability. Other schedules, such as 10, 80, and 160, have varying thicknesses suited for different pressure and temperature conditions.

Pipe Size Chart and Dimensions

A pipe size chart provides essential details like outside diameter (OD), wall thickness, and inside diameter (ID). These dimensions are critical for selecting the right pipe for fluid flow, structural applications, and industrial use.

Pipe Weight Chart

Knowing a pipe’s weight is crucial for transportation and structural calculations. A pipe weight chart provides the unit mass per foot or meter of pipe length based on the material and schedule.

Why Use a Pipe Chart?

A pipe schedule chart helps engineers, fabricators, and contractors select the right pipe based on application requirements. Whether you're working on plumbing, HVAC, gas pipelines, or industrial installations, using the correct pipe size chart ensures efficiency and safety.
